Step #1: Melt butter and honey on a water bath, add heavy cream and stir until the liquid goes golden. Add peanut butter and keep stirring until the mixture thickens.

 

Step #2: Add coconut flakes (optional) to the mixture and mix until all well combined. 

 

Step #3: Scoop the mixture into the prepared muffin tray and let it set in the freezer.

 

Step #4: Melt chocolate on a water bath. Pour the melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter cups and let it set in the fridge until firm. 

 

Of course, you can leave the coconut flakes out, and you will have decadent tasting peanut butter cups with only 5-ingredients.

All you have to do is to substitute heavy cream with coconut cream, butter with coconut oil, honey with maple syrup, and chocolate with dairy-free one. A lot of substitutions, but ratios and everything else stays the same. 🙂

 

Also, there can be a KETO version of these homemade peanut butter cups. All you have to do is to substitute honey with stevia and maybe add a little bit more butter to the mixture. It is suitable for diabetics as well if you leave out the chocolate. 

 

I like to call these peanut butter cups Sugar Free Bounty Reese’s Cups, because homemade bounty is made with heavy cream, coconut flakes, and chocolate, and Reese’s cups are made with peanut butter and chocolate. And these homemade peanut butter cups have all the ingredients.
