This Sugar Free Apple Pie is made with classical and healthy ingredients. This is one recipe in my blog that it is not gluten free or whole-wheat, but I wanted to make a fluffy classical apple pie that my grandma always makes.
Apple Pie is something so simple yet delicious. I am a huge fan of my grandma’s classic recipe, but I wanted to try to make it sugar free as well. And it turned out great, the texture is a bit different, but it is interesting and you cannot imagine how moist that cake is.
I’ve discovered that honey makes cakes much better. Cheesecake is always creamier with honey, and this apple pie is sticky, moist, and delicious. You can even eat it three days later and it is not dry at all.
So, why not make this cake at the start of the week, and you will have a perfect slice of cake to enjoy throughout the first half of the week. Or even better, make a huge Sugar Free Apple Pie on Friday, and you will have cake for your family throughout the weekend.
All you need for this cake is some simple ingredients:
- Baking Powder
- Olive oil, coconut oil or butter
- Dairy-free milk or regular
Most of the ingredients that many already have at home.
How to Make a Sugar Free Apple Pie from Scratch
This is a healthy version of a classic apple pie made with simple ingredients. You’ll love the texture and taste of this cake!
Step #1: Preheat the oven to 200C.
Step #2: Peel the apples and cut them into desired pieces.
Step #3: Melt honey with olive oil on a water bath, take off the heat.
Step #4: In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder. Add eggs and dairy-free milk to the cooled honey and oil mixture. Add dry ingredients and combine all together until the texture is smooth and creamy. Last but not least, add the chopped apples.
Step #5: Pour the mixture into a prepared cooking mold. Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Take out of the oven and let it cool.
Step #6: Enjoy with a scoop of ice cream!

It is essential to give your cake time to cool. I know it is going to smell irresistibly amazing after you take the cake out of the oven, but it is important to let the cake cool down. Otherwise, you are going to end up with a mess! And you don’t want this to happen. 😉
Customizations of the recipe
You can use gluten free or whole-wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour to make this cake even healthier. But you have to keep in mind that the texture of this cake becomes heavier and thicker.
I recommend using green apples that aren’t too soft and sweet. Otherwise, this cake will be bland and way too sweet. You can add some berries as well to make it more interesting.
Also, when you are baking this Sugar Free Apple Pie for your guests, I recommend serving a slice of this cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Or vegan coconut ice cream you made yourself.

- 150g honey
- 100g olive oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 dl dairy-free milk
- 500g apples (peeled and chopped)
